Is the design fee separate from the execution cost?+
In most studios, yes — the design fee and execution cost are separate. The design fee covers your drawings, renders, and materials guide. The execution cost covers materials, labour, and contractor charges, and is quoted after the design is approved. At Aura Foundry, our Design + Execution package bundles both, so you have one number for the complete scope.
Why do interior designer charges vary so much in Pune?+
Three main factors: scope (is it full home or just kitchen and wardrobes?), finish level (standard laminate vs. lacquer and premium hardware), and whether civil work is included (flooring, tiling, false ceiling add substantial cost). A ₹5L project and a ₹25L project for the same 2 BHK flat are both valid — they just represent very different scope and quality decisions.
Does the design fee include site supervision during execution?+
In design-only packages, no — site supervision is a separate engagement. In design + execution packages, site supervision is included. Are there hidden charges I should watch out for?+
Common sources of cost overrun in interior projects: changes made after designs are locked (add-ons mid-project), material upgrades selected at the time of purchase without re-checking the BOQ, and civil surprises (hidden plumbing or electrical issues discovered during demolition). Ask your designer for a contingency line in the BOQ — typically 8–12% — to absorb these without disrupting the budget.
